Design Style and Inspirations

“The genesis of JC Court development was inspired by the Mews houses built in the 18th and 19th century UK”

Today, the JC court is for those who want to live in the quiet suburban and have their own front door in a tranquil community environment.

Being within walking distance of beautiful parks, independent shops, world class restaurants, bars and excellent schools, but within a quintessentially pretty, often traffic free street.

Project Highlight

Having weathered the Covid-19 lockdowns, numerous delays and incremental price hikes through out the project, moving forward the industry needs to actively monitor the contract clauses and put protections down to stop further losses.

Our experience was that COVID-19 first impacted procurement. Then, once the alert level increased to levels 3 and 4, most construction sites were shut down completely. In some cases, design (and other tasks which can be carried on remotely) continues but physical works have come to a standstill.

It’s critical to have clauses in the building contract to ensure the construction duration and the costs are manageable under any circumstances.

• Comprehensive extension of time clause
• Fix sum contract
• Advanced notifications and early communications to avoid delegation

How to resolve issues with the neighbours

If you are carrying out construction or excavation work on a boundary, or a shared driveway, a good first step is to bring onboard a charted surveyor with your neighbour, which explains the process. Ideally, tell your neighbours what is going to happen on site, before it happens, and update them about any issues that might affect them.

The best way to avoid this kind of problem is to be as open and collaborative as possible from the start. Hire a lawyer to draft up an agreement also helps to ensure all parties are well aware of the terms and would allow construction to proceed without further disputes.
